Asian Chicken Salad

Here’s a recipe from the side of a packet of salad topping - I like this one! You should be able to replace those ramen noodles with any other you like – I don’t particularly fancy them on account of their high fat content as they’re fried, usually. However, go ahead and make that dressing – it goes really well!

Asian Chicken Salad

2 packages (3 oz each) chicken flavoured ramen noodles, broken
4 cups shredded cabbage
2 cups cut up cooked chicken
4 green onions chopped
1 package Salad Pizzaz Orange Cranberry Almondine

1/4 cup seasoned rice vinegar or white vinegar
3 tbs vegetable oil
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp minced gingerroot
1/2 tsp dark sesame oil
1 clove garlic, minced

Bring 3 cups water to boil in 2 qt saucepan. Add noodles and 1 seasoning packet from noodle package. Cook 3 mins. Drain and rinse in cold water until noodles are cool. Toss noodles, cabbage, chicken, Salad Pizzaz and green onions in large bowl. Shake dressing ingredients in jar with tight fitting lid. Pour over salad, toss to coat.

Glühwein Recipe

My sweetie’s making glühwein - our annual holiday tradition, yum! Recipe follows:


  • 1 L Red wine
  • 125 ml Water
  • 60 gr Sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1 tblsp Lemon peel

Mixing instructions:

Boil sugar and spices in water, leave in the water for 30 minutes. Strain the spiced water and mix with the wine. Heat slowly until short of boiling temperature. (To remove alcohol, let it boil for a while.) You may add lemon or orange juice to taste. Serve in irish coffee cup.
